Handle Cash Smartly

Handle Cash Smartly

Even without a virus outbreak, cash is notoriously germy. Combine it with an outbreak and it can be a bit scary if you're someone who has to handle cash routinely.

We've been unable to confirm a direct link between COVID-19 and cash handling. However, to avoid excess exposure, we encourage you to use debit or credit cards to make purchases.

We know many Nevada industries rely on cash so if you must handle cash, please do the following:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after touching money, especially if you plan to prepare or eat food. In a pinch, you can also use hand sanitizer.

  2. We routinely clean our ATMs, but in the wake of COVID-19, you're welcome to do a quick wipe of the keypad with an antibacterial cloth before and after you use it to help avoid germ exposure.

In reality, these simple cash handling tips are smart to follow every day. But it's especially important as we work together to contain COVID-19.
