The safest way to reach ONE NEVADA isn't a search. Here's why, and what to do instead.
Most of us find things the same way: type a name into a search bar and tap the first result. It's fast, it's habit, and for almost everything online it's fine.
For your credit union, it's the one habit we're asking you to break.
What's happening
Fraudsters are building fake ONE NEVADA websites — copies designed to look exactly like ours, right down to the logo and login screen. Then they work to get those fakes to show up in search results, sometimes as paid ads that sit above our real listing.
If you search for us and tap one of those links, you land on their page instead of ours. It looks right, so you enter your username and password — and in that moment, you've handed your login straight to a scammer. The uncomfortable part: nothing on the fake page looks wrong. That's the whole point of it.
The fix: three ways to always reach the real ONE NEVADA
You don't need to become a security expert. You just need one reliable path to us that a scammer can't hijack. Any of these three works — the first is the safest:
- Use a saved bookmark. Save our real address once, and from then on you're one tap away — no typing, no searching.
- Type our address yourself. Enter onenevada.org directly into the address bar. It takes a few extra seconds and skips the search results entirely.
- Open the ONE NEVADA app. If it's on your phone, it always goes to the real us. There's no search result to get wrong. If you haven't installed it yet, that's the single best thing you can do today:
And one rule that ties them all together: never log in from a link in a search result, a text message, or an email. Go to us directly, every time.
Save us in 30 seconds
On your phone (add to home screen): open onenevada.org in your browser, tap the share or menu icon, and choose Add to Home Screen. Now we're an icon, just like the app.
On a computer (add a bookmark): open onenevada.org, then press Ctrl + D (Windows) or Cmd + D (Mac) and save it to your bookmarks bar.
Do it once and you're covered from then on.
How to spot a fake
If you ever do arrive through a search or a link, slow down for a second and check:
- The web address. Our real address is onenevada.org. Fakes use look-alikes — extra words, hyphens, odd endings, or a slightly misspelled name.
- The "Ad" or "Sponsored" tag. A paid search result isn't automatically ours. Scammers buy ad space too.
- Anything that rushes you. "Your account is locked — log in now to fix it" is a pressure tactic. We won't rush you like that.
When in doubt, close the page and reach us through the app, a bookmark, or by typing our address.
What ONE NEVADA will never do
To make the fakes easier to catch, here's what the real us will never do:
- We'll never text or email you a login link and ask you to sign in through it.
- We'll never ask for your full password or PIN. We'll only ask you to provide a one-time verification code if you contacted us first and the request requires us to verify your identity.
- We'll never pressure you to act "right now" to avoid losing access.
If a message does any of these, it isn't from us — no matter how official it looks.
The bottom line
Searching for your credit union is the one shortcut worth giving up. Open the app, use a bookmark, or type our address — and you'll reach the real ONE NEVADA every time, no matter what shows up in a search result.
Take 30 seconds right now: add onenevada.org to your home screen or bookmarks, and if you haven't already, download the app. Future-you will be glad you did.
