Green Your Spring Cleaning Routine

Spring is in the air and that means it is time to do your annual spring cleaning around the house. This year, green your routine with natural cleaners that can already be found in your home.

Green cleaning ingredients:

Distilled white vinegar
Baking soda
Olive oil

Essential oils
Microfiber cleaning cloths

Homemade Cleaning Recipes:

Glass cleaner:
1/4 cup vinegar
1 quart of water
Mix together in a spray bottle and spray on glass and wipe clean with old newspaper or a lint-free cloth.

Countertops and tile:
2 parts vinegar
1 part baking soda
4 parts water
Apply to desired area, sponge, scour and wipe away.

Floor cleaner:
4 cups of white distilled vinegar
About a gallon of hot water
you can also add a few drops of a scented oil to replace the smell of the vinegar 
If desired, add a few drops of pure peppermint or lemon oil for a pleasant scent.

Shower mold:
1 part hydrogen peroxide
2parts water
Mix and spray onto surface and leave for an hour.

Wood cleaner:
Mix equal parts of lemon juice and olive and oil
Apply a small amount to a cloth, and rub onto the furniture in long, even strokes.

Toilet bowl:
Sprinkle your toilet brush with baking soda
Use vinegar to clean the exterior of the bowl
